Charlotte All-Star Practice NASCAR 2017 Live

The summer auto racing calendar kicks off for NASCAR this week with the Monster Cup All-Star race at 8 p.m. Saturday on Fox Sports 1, at the 1.5-mile Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Practice begins Friday at 1 p.m. (FS1) and qualifying is Saturday at 4:35 p.m., also on FS1. You can get live scoring and updates at NASCAR’s Race Center.

This has become the farewell tour for icon Dale Earnhardt Jr., who recently announced his retirement effective at the end of this season.

Fast facts: This year’s All-Star race will feature three 20-lap stages with a 10-lap finale. …Truex is 44 points behind Kyle Larson in the standings. But Truex has a pair of wins, five stage victories and 15 playoff points. Truex’s stage wins and playoff points are series highs. …Jamie McMurray is fifth in points despite not winning a race or even a stage.
